Hansson PyroTech is a company located in Sweden that produces, market and sell world class pyrotechnic distress signals for the commercial and leisure marine industry. All products are sold under the brand IKAROS. We offer the complete SOLAS range of pyrotechnics to a global network of distributors and retailers.

To increase the safety at sea, Carl Robert Hansson founded Hansson PyroTech in Gothenburg 1888. In the beginning, fireworks were the basis of the business, but in the 1890s the company also became known as a skilled and reliable manufacturer of ship’s distress signals (blue lights).

The product range was extensive, and by the early 1920s  were already producing all types of emergency signals available on the market at that time. Parachute rockets, blue and red lights, signal guns and lifebuoy lights are a few examples.

Distress signals and emergency flares must be reliable. They need to work. Also, the instructions must be clear and easy for you to understand, and easy to handle. Because in emergencies nothing can go wrong – your life depends on it.
